Year 10 Painting, Drawing and Sculpture

This subject provides our Year 10 students with the opportunity to explore and hone their artistic skills before undertaking Unit 1-2 Studio Arts. Students spend the semester engaging in a variety of different mediums both 2D and 3D. The tasks you see displayed here are:

Impressionist Paintings:  Students learned about the famous Impressionism art movement and it's key artists. They then selected their favourite of these artists and created their own artwork, being influenced by that artist's techniques and style.

Still life drawings: A key skill for any artist, the students spent time learning about lighting and composition before beginning their own still life drawings.

Papier Mache Models: Influenced by the whimsical work of Nancy Winn, the students created their own papier mache sculptures of an animal of their choosing. The focus was on use of materials, movement and texture.
