Year 9 Character Design and Illustration

This is a new subject at Mount Lilydale Mercy College this year. In this unit students learn the fundamentals of character design, concept art and illustration techniques used for games, television and film. Students learn to draw and paint on paper and digitally using Wacom tablets and digital painting software. Students will learn anatomy, proportion, a variety of drawing and painting techniques. Students will learn how to work their way through the design process to design characters that are outlined in creative briefs.
