Year 10 Architectural and Interior Design

Year 10 Architectural and Interior Design allows students to develop and explore their skills in the environmental strain of design. This subject continues into Unit 1-2 Visual Communication Design where students can further refine these skills.

Design Through the Decades: Using the one-point perspective style of technical drawing, students select a style of design from between 1950 to 2010, and create an interior space. They are assessed on their technical drawing skills, as well as knowledge and application of design features characteristic of their chosen era.

"Sims Brief" Technical Drawing: Students get the opportunity to create their own client, and develop a brief from this fictional clients wants and needs. They then follow the design process, culminating in a final technical drawing of the floor plan and north elevation.  Students must adhere to the VCAA Technical Drawing Specifications for this task.

Model Making: The model making assessment task looked slightly different for each semester's class this year. The semester 1 students were able to create a 3D model of their Sim's Brief design, whereas the semester 2 students were completing their models during Remote Learning, so they completed a Tiny Towers task from found objects at home.
